Embrace Your Opinion: Why Being a People-Pleaser Doesn't Have to Be Your Reality

Please stop trying to please everyone else.

I see you, I was you.
I was a "people pleaser" for far too long.
Sometimes I still catch myself.
What can I say, I'm human too.

One thing I learned about being a people pleaser is that it can cause you to lose who you are because you care so much about what other people think or how they might feel. Now, I am not saying caring for others and what they think is a bad thing.  I am just sayin' it can be if it causes you to not feel comfortable sharing your wisdom, knowledge, experiences and passions with others.  It can be if you stop caring about the things that are important to you to please the people around you.

Shine the way the Lord created you to shine.

It’s okay to say No.
It’s okay to disagree.
Disagreeing with someone or saying no shouldn’t be wrong. It just means you have priorities and a life too. Your opinions matter, and it is a beautiful thing to be able to disagree and also appreciate someone else’s views.

It is what makes us unique.

Don’t you dare not do something that you love or feel called to do because you think one or more people won’t be happy or agree with you.

If they love you they will always love you, no matter your differences.

A lot of times, keeping other people happy comes at the expense of your own. So I want to encourage you to break the mold and be brave enough to do what is right for you. Take time to think about what matters most in your life and don't forget that it's okay to make decisions with yourself in mind, too.

Your Light matters in this world.
Don’t dim it to satisfy the insecurities of others. Your light might be exactly what they are needing and looking for.
